About This Item
New York: Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 1984. First Edition, First Printing . Impressed Aqua Linen. Near Fine/Very Good. 9 1/4" Tall. By Author. This is a successor volume to the late cartoonist's superior CDB? It continues the alphabet games initiated by its predecessor: one kid standing before a television picture of a batter at the plate says to the other R T-M S B-N B-10 ("Our team is being beaten"). Another describes a patient lying on the couch as he spills all to his psychoanalyst: K-C S N N-L-S-S ("Casey is in analysis"). The humor is so-so; the drawings are little masterpieces of economy and urban wit. About 60 unnumbered pages. Dustjacket shows insignificant shelf-use; boards are clean and sound; inked gift dedication dated Christmas 1984 (first printing, thus) on front endpaper recto; text is clean and strong.
