Red cloth binding with gilt lettering on spine. Front board single blind ruled. Deckled edges. Half-title present. B/W frontis plate showcases photograph of "Site of Old Fort Pierre"; 2 further B/W photographic illustrations on plates, including one facsimile of the original title page of the Fort Clark Journal. Notes & References, Appendices, and Index at rear. Text is internally very clean; illustrations are as new. Front hinge becoming loose. Outside of this defect, the boards and spine are vibrant and near fine. This is a wonderfully clean and bright first edition copy of this 1932 book. Very good condition. 1932
