FIRST (and only non-reprint) EDITION of this classic (and beautifully-produced) monograph. 197 pp + frontispiece, engraved title, and 31 finely-printed photogravure reproductions, each with a sheet of descriptive letterpress. EDITION LIMITED TO 100 NUMBERED COPIES PRINTED ON FINE HANDMADE PAPER. World War I interrupted the publication of this volume: the letterpress title-page says 1914, the engraved title-page says 1917, and the book was actually issued in 1921. Large 8vo. Publisher's beautifully gilt-stamped cloth. Top edge gilt, other edges uncut. FINE AND BRIGHT, WITH NO DEFECTS. Like new.
