About the author

Chon A. Noriega is professor of film, television, and media studies at the University of California, Los Angeles and the director of the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center. He has published ten books on Latino art, media, and performance, and is completing a monograph on Puerto Rican multimedia artist Raphael Montaez Ortiz. Eric Avila is professor of history at the University of California, Los Angeles, with joint appointments in Chicano studies and urban planning. He is the author of The Folklore of the Freeway: Race and Revolt in the Modernist City. Karen Mary Davalos is professor of Chicana/o studies at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. She is the author of From Errata to Remix. Chela Sandoval is associate professor of Chicana studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is the author of Methodology of the Oppressed. Rafael Prez-Torres is professor of English at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is the author of estizaje: Critical Uses of Race in Chicano Culture.
