About the author

Jean Van Leeuwen is the author of more than fifty books for children. Her Oliver and Amanda Pig easy-to-read series, launched in 1979, is still growing. Her recent picture book, Benny and Beautiful Baby Delilah (Dial, 2006) received a starred review in School Library Journal. She lives in Chappaqua, New York. David Gavril is the author and illustrator of Penelope Nuthatch and the Big Surprise, about which Booklist says, "The cleanlined, bright pictures highlight the action and humor." He lives in Brooklyn, New York.
