An expose of the squalor, malnutrition and general degradation of Naples slum area post World War II. The author primarily focuses his book on the scugnizzi [ the urchins of Naples ] and of a lone priest, Mario Borelli, trying to bring hope to the hopeless. Softening to the backstrip edges with rubbing of the book corners and lower book edges. Cocking of the spine. Some marks to the book panels with browning and foxing to the textblock edges with lighter browning and faint foxing to the pages. Offset tanning and foxing to the endpapers.
