In his history of England, Charles Dickens described events from the time of the Romans through the so-called Glorious Revolution of 1688. With five black & white illustrations and a table listing the Kings and Queens from Alfred the Great, beginning in 871, through Queen Victoria (1837). This undated volume was likely part of a larger set of the works of Charles Dickens, possibly published c.1880-1900. --- In full brown cloth-covered boards with titling on paper spine label; top edges gilt. Textblock edges roughly trimmed, some pages unopened. Volume has no dust jacket. --- A clean, unmarked, tightly-bound copy but with a tear to a leaf near the front of the book.
