About This Item
New York: Knopf, 1924. First Edition. Later binding: red cloth-backed blue boards, yellow top stain, with paper label; 8vo. Inscribed "For Paul and Dorris/ With affection and all good wishes, May 3, 1949" and signed in full by the poet. This volume with many of the poet's finest poems. A good copy, tips worn and one signature starting. In later dust jacket, about very good and likely circa 1940 (in removable archival covers). Until tax laws changed in the 1970's, it was not uncommon for publishers to keep unbound sheets for years. This binding using the original sheets was likely done around 1940, the jacket advertising war bonds.
