London: published by the author, 1870. First edition (hardback). 12mo (19cm by 12cm), viii, 340pp, xx [adverts]. Frontispiece and plates by the author. Original brown cloth, gilt design to the front board. Binding somewat dusty and chafed at the extremities, inner hinges strained. Only a fair to good copy overall, but suitable as a reading, working or reference copy.
