Bound in the publisher's original paper wraps, with cord holding pages in place.This work has irregular pagination, with pagination not yet listed on the contents page. It is comprised of 278 pages, some of which are labelled '1' followed by '1A', etc. Written by American biographer and fiction writer, Francis Steegmuller, who was particularly known for his works surrounding Flaubert.'The Christening Party' is a charming tale told from the point of view of a 7-year-old grandson on the day of his sisters Christening. This event brings together a family reunion, set in a small resort town in Connecticut at the start of the twentieth century. Bound in the publisher's original paper wraps, with cord holding pages in place. Externally, very good indeed, with light sunning to the extremities and the occasional mark. Light creasing and a touch of edge wear. Middle hole punch has a small tear to the front cover. Internally, pages are bright and clean. Cord is holding papers together securely. Very Good Indeed
