About This Item

Collins,, 1977. 8vo., First Edition, with 24 plates on 12 and 4 maps (3 double-page) in the text, some very light spotting to text and fold-ins, some light offsetting from fold-ins to free endpapers; cloth, backstrip lettered in silver, a very good, clean copy in price-clipped dustwrapper. An excellent piece of research and scholarship. Although covering well-worn ground, Roskill brings a fresh view to the argument as to how far Churchill ignored the advice of his professional advisers both as politician and amateur naval strategist. Enser, p.53; Law, 0660.
