San Diego: Convair/General Dynamics, 1980. Softcover. Fine.. 8" x 10" glossy black and white silver gelatin print with 1/2" white border. With Convair stamp and ID number on verso. Convair, previously Consolidated Vultee, was an American aircraft-manufacturing company that later expanded into rockets and spacecraft. The company was formed in 1943 by the merger of Consolidated Aircraft and Vultee Aircraft. In 1953, it was purchased by General Dynamics, and operated as their Convair Division for most of its corporate history. Founded by Reuben H. Fleet in 1923, Convair became one of the most significant aircraft manufacturers in American history.
