About This Item

Jackson, MS: Citizens' Councils of America, 1977. Single issue of the slender digest-sized pro-segregation monthly, 31p., very good. The neo-Confederate journal stood for "States rights and racial integrity." Cover depicts Jimmy Carter embracing Martin Luther King Sr., with an article lamenting his election. Another article describes a verdict against the NAACP for its role in leading a boycott in Port Gibson.
