Indianapolis: The Bobbs-Merrill Company, 1952. Hardcover. 8vo. Green cloth with gilt lettering, pictorial price-clipped dust jacket. 403pp. Near fine/very good. Jacket lightly edgeworn, with spine rather sunned. Tight, handsome, quite nice first edition of this biography of the Illinois poet, second title by the novelist best known for the 1956 baseball novel "Bang the Drum Slowly." Laid in is some ephemera about the premiere of a 1989 documentary about Lindsay.
