This Book is in Acceptable Condition. The Gray Buckram Boards have Light Rubbing and Light Edgewear but No Tears, Creases, Stains, or Any Major Damage. The Binding is Strong and Intact but with Slight Sagging, typical in such a Large Book. The Interior is Clean and Unmarked (other than the Partially Marked-Out Author's Signature and Inscription) with No Writing, Highlighting, or Underlining and have Occasional Very Light Foxing but No Tears, Creases, Stains, or Other Major Damage. The Interior does have a Slight Musty Odor, though the Musty Odor is not overpowering, it and Foxing are the only reasons this Book is only in Acceptable Condition. Announcement of the order by President Johnson to end the naval blockade against foreign commerce, except in the ports of Galveston, Lasalle, Brazos de Santiago (Port Isabel) and Brownsville, Texas. "All such offenders will be held and dealt with as pirates." Although Lee had surrendered in April 1865, the Confederate armies in Texas had not surrendered, hence the U. S. naval blockade on Texas ports needed to be maintained.
