All lettering is sharp except Garden City Publishing at the base of the spine and it is readable. 570 pages, book is tight and clean. The main sources of this biography were Clarence Darrow's private correspondence, family documents, manuscripts, legal briefs, notebooks and unpublished memoirs, sold to the author by Mrs. Darrow. No restrictions were imposed upon the author by the Darrows as to what he might write or publish. This is truly the definitive biography of Clarence Darrow. No underlining, no highlighting, no bookplates, no prior owner names, no markings. A very serviceable copy.
