About This Item
Le Livre Moderne Illustre, Paris, 1935. Good. French language; 12mo.; 213 p., clean and unmarked except for name of former owner on front end page; lovely ill. by Gerard Cochet; elegant boards with green and white Art Deco pattern, with dark green matching corners and spine and clear gilt lettering on spine, protected by plastic covering except where that has torn off at crown of spine, so there is slight rubbing there. Also, the plastic cover was affixed with scotch tape, which has left traces on paste downs. Book is perfectly square but some barbarian must have rested a heavy object between pp. 16 and 17, so although gutter not cracked, the book opens to those pages.
