About This Item
Petty Curse Books,, (2017). SIGNED hardcover first edition -. Fine in illustrated boards... First trade edition. A beautiful book, but one which is difficult to describe - a blend of drawing and storytelling in a novel filled with suspense, surprise, and humor, and illustrated by over 100 drawings in india ink on watercolor paper originally done by the author-artist on locations in China, Japan and Thailand, and completed in his studios in San Francisco. The drawings, which include many double page spreads, are in brown and cream tones, with blue highlights in some. Author Glen David Gold called this "a gripping and deeply mysterious novel about the nature of artistic creation and the wayward, confounding path of inspiration a true work of art." Originally issued as a very small limited edition, this, the first trade edition, consisted of only 5000 copies. SIGNED and dated in the year of publication on the last page. 449 pp plus some blue sheets, publication information and about the author. Promotional postcard laid in.
