1st ed. 8vo, blue boards, 114 pp. Searle's first book publication, while a nineteen year-old art student at the Cambridge Art School and part-time cartoonist for the Cambridge Daily News.. ] Ten black and white line drawings. Searle worked as a packer and clerk with the Cambridge Cooperative Society, for which this book is a brief history. "[T]he book will never be sought after for its narrative's sake, except by historians of the Co-operative movement…..Nevertheless, it was the first time a reviewer could say that there were 'drawings by Ronald Searle to brighten the pages.'" CONDITION: We are conservative graders. If we say FINE you can count on it. If there are any minor defects [e.g. minor shelf-wear] they will be noted. VERY GOOD means there is light shelf or surface-wear, possibly some light age-toning, maybe a prior owner's inked name inside -- but no significant defects. GOOD means we wish we had a better copy too, but still in collectable condition. Any significant defects will be noted. FAIR usually means the interior is good or better but the covers are heavily worn. POOR means both the interior and the covers are damaged. Again, significant defects will be noted.

Terms of Sale: 30 day return with full refund if an item arrives misdescribed or damaged. 14-day return if you simply have buyer's remorse and decided to ruin our day.....

Shipping Charges: Our shipping charges are based upon a 2 lb [1kg] book using the US Postal Service. U.S. orders are sent via media mail or priority mail. International orders by first class mail for items weighing 2 lbs [1kg] or less, or priority mail for heavier items.
