About the author

Eleanor Taylor Bland, the "grande dame of Chicago mystery writers," according the "Chicago Sun-Times," is the author of eleven previous Marti MacAlister mysteries and the editor of the anthology, "Shades of Black: Crime and Mystery Stories by African-American Authors." She lives in Waukegan, Illinois, which serves as the model for Marti's hometown of Lincoln Prairie.
