Warsaw: PWN, 1988 2 volumes 8vo (24.5 cm), frontispiece with the author's photograph, , LIV, [2], 850, [2] pp; VIII, [2] pp, PP. 851-1687, [2] pp. Publisher's cloth and dust jackets (dj slightly frayed at extremities and rubbed). Władysław Orlicz (1903 -1990) was a Polish mathematician from Lwów School of Mathematics, one of the founders of modern functional analysis. These two volumes include all his mathematical publications written in the years 1926-85. The papers are preceded by a biographical article, a survey of Orlicz's scientific work, a complete list of his publications and a list of doctoral dissertations written under his supervision. The topis considered in the papers include orthogonal expansions, summability methods, metric locally convex spaces, Saks spaces, unconditional convergence, Orlicz spaces and modular spaces, theory of measure and integral, functions of bounded generalized variation.
