New York; Alfred A. Knopf, 1945., 1945. Hard Cover. FIRST EDITION. Octavo, pp. xv, [3], 269, [1]. Publishers' black cloth with gilt titles and decoration to spine and roundel in blind to upper board, in unclipped grey dust-jacket. Top edge of cover cloth slightly sunned otherwise a clean copy. From the library of Oscar-nominated Canadian film star Alexander Knox, with his ownership stamp to front pastedown. Jacket toned, particularly to spine, with a few nicks & creases to edge and Knox's stamp to front flap. A Near Fine copy in Very Good jacket. Collection of verse by the Canadian poet, aimed at the American market and featuring the long narrative poems for which he is best known, including "Dunkirk".
