A lovely complete two volume set of the collected works of Dante Gabriel Rossetti, being first edition copies. These volumes are edited with a preface and notes by William M. Rossetti. The first volume contains Rossetti's Prose-Tales and Literary Papers and the second volume contains his translations and prose-notices of fine art. Dante Gabriel Rossetti was an English poet, illustrator, painter and translator who founded the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood in 1848 with William Holman Hunt and John Everett Millais. With a bookplate for Reginald Balfour to both front pastedowns. In the publisher's original gilt cloth binding. Externally very smart. Some rubbing to the front board of volume II and some bumping to the heads and tails of the spines. Both front hinges are starting but remain firm. rear hinge of volume two is starting but remains firm. With a bookplate for Reginald Balfour to both front pastedowns. With a previous owner inscription to the half title page for Reginal Balfour. Internally, generally firmly bound though slightly loosening in places bright and clean pages. Very Good Indeed
