Magnificent full straight grain morocco bindings of the highest quality with twin gilt raised bands and splendid gilt tooling to the panels. The boards are framed withing superb gilt rolls and corner tooling. Dentelles and all edges gilt. With the armorial bookplates of Mountgarrett. Fine engraved views throughout. Some foxing. Tight and complete. Slightly rubbed. Bottom panels on spine of Cambridge set is tape repair and worn on Oxford set. A beautiful set of 2 celebrated histories none the less.. 1st Printing. Leather. Very Good+/No Jacket - Issued. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
