Presentation in fountain pen from Author to ffep., dated 1938. The recipient, Mr. Alexander Davidson Jr., was a noted rare book dealer as well as librarian to, and on the council of, New York's Grolier Club.**The John Carter Brown Library, a research library located at Brown University, housing among other treasures, the best preserved copy of the Bay Psalm Book, the first book printed in North America, as well as the world's most complete collection of Mexican works printed before 1600. Author Lawrence Counselman Wroth (1884 - 1970) was an American historian most famous for this book, and for "A History of Printing in Colonial Maryland: 1686-1776" (1922).
