About This Item

Treviso, Italy: COLORS Magazine S.r.l. @ United Colors of Benetton , 2000. Soft cover. Near Fine. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Near Fine - very. See description and scans. COLORS Magazine- Number 42, the Romani (Romany, Gyspsy) Issue - February- March 2001. Treviso, Italy: COLORS Magazine S.r.l. @ United Colors of Benetton, 2000. Multiple languages. Large, thick quarto, perfect-bound illustrated wraps, 115 pp. Fine, with no notable flaw other than an abrasion at the bottom right corner of rear cover (scan). Superb condition for a scarce issue of Benetton's unique, original publication displaying pure maximum diversity of style (and language) throughout the world - with no particular self-promotion by clothing manufacturer Benetton, either. A celebration of human variety. This issue focuses on the worldwide diversity within the international Romani (Romany, Gypsy) community itself. COLORS was created in 1991 by Tibor Kalman, Oliviero Toscani and Karrie Jacobs "as a way of communicating the intelligence of the Benetton brand to an extremely sophisticated consumer", and was published in multiple bilingual locations, each issue having its own theme; but all of those themes offered the amazing diversity of the human race - its styles. Multiple photographers participated. Unique - and rare. A very hard find in any condition for the genre collector. See all scans. Ships in stout protection, of course. LPR56
