Damp wrinkling to pages. Some soiling and spots to front cover. Damp wrinkling to back cover. Still, a very readable copy, with 25 color plates and other illustrations, all intact. This book is a faithful reprint by Lancaster of the 1915 work. It is Lancaster's story of the valley, a wonderful collection of essays about the regions natives, early missionaries, fur traders and soldiers. He discusses many of the area's great natural landmarks, from waterfalls, rock formations but also manmade wonders, including bridges, buildings, and tunnels.
