Jozef Jarosinski serves on the faculty of theTechnical University of Lodz in Poland. Bernard Veyssiere works with the Laboratoire de Combustion et de Dtonique, Futuroscope, Chasseneuil, France. Both are respected internationally for their pioneering research. In addition to other contributions to the text, their depth and breadth of knowledge is reflected in the book's first chapter, which summarizes and defines challenges that are being addressed by current research.
