Frances Ridley Havergal was a spiritual poet and a writer of hymns. Take My Life and Let it Be and Thy Life for Me also called as I Gave My Life for Thee are two of her most popular praises. She also penned song descants, devotional pamphlets, and children?s stories.

She was born into an Anglican family, at Astley in Worcestershire. William Henry Havergal, her father, was a cleric, author, composer, and also a writer of hymns. Henry East Havergal, her brother, was a minister in the Church of England and an organist.

She attended the Louisenschule, Düsseldorf, and at Oberkassel. Or else she had a peaceful lifestyle, not reveling in unfailing sound wellbeing; she went on trips, in specific to Switzerland. She promoted the Church Missionary Society.
