The Keil and Delitzsch Old Testament commentary was first published around a century and a half ago. Despite its age, it is still one of the best scholarly Old Testament commentaries around. Although a knowledge of Hebrew is helpful (Hebrew words in the Hebrew script are found throughout) it is not necessary to know Hebrew in order to understand the verse by verse commentary provided by the authors. Every verse of the Old Testament is examined, and differing interpretations are noted as well as explanations for why one rather than another interpretation is to be preferred.
