Acceptable. 288 p., and preface and t.o.c.; paper very strong and only mildly age-toned but with some foxing--faint but noticeable tains on t.p. and first 27 pages, diminishing in extent--diluted ink?--and similar stains on back end pages. There is a darker ink stain on front pastedown; p. 203 creased, with insert of peacock feather;front gutter cracked with end pages up to t.p. missing but text block firm and undetached from binding. volume is square with handsome brown and black marbled boards and black leather spine with still legible gilt lettering; corners bumped and some abrasion along spine at back. 12mo. .
