Altogether 147 issues, comprised of 7 early issues (Year I, Nos. 5 and 6, and Year II, Nos. 2, 3, 8, 21, and 23) and a large sequential run of 140 issues (Year III, No. 1 through Year XX, No. 139/140, lacking nos. 66 through 69) of the long-running Italian social, political, and cultural journal affiliated with the Movimento Comunità, an Italian socialist and liberal-democratic political party, under the editorial direction of Adriano Olivetti, Giorgio Soavi, and Renzo Zorzi, containing articles and essays on politics, sociology, literature, art, architecture, economics, urban planning, and other topics in Italy and abroad, with contributions from Olivetti, Gerardo Bruni, Vincenzo Mazzei, Mario Praz, Giuseppe Rovero, Alberto Moravia, Giulio Carlo Argan, Luciano Anceschi, Ignazio Silone, Giorgio Bassani, Cesare Pavese, Mario Luzi, Elio Vittorini, Carlo Bo, and many others. Profusely illustrated throughout with photographs and drawings. Early issues tabloid, later issues small 4to. 1946 and 1947 original self-wrpps., 1949 through 1955 and 1961 through 1966 original wrpps., 1956 through 1960 in cloth-backed boards, original wrpps. bound in. Some scattered soiling and foxing especially to wrpps. of earliest issues, some issues with rubber stamps, some issues with old address label affixed to front, Year I No. 6 with some paper loss to back page. The Movimento Comunità party was founded in Piedmont in 1947 originally as a cultural movement, and was transformed by Olivetti into a political organization. The journal Comunità actually preceded the official founding of the movement and was started in Rome in March 1946 with the subtitle "Giornale Mensile di Politica e Cultura". This first series ran for six issues, through October 1946. In April 1947, publication transferred to Torino and ran for 26 issues, printed weekly and then biweekly through December 1947. The third series began in Ivrea in 1949, and ran until 1992. A rare large consecutive group of this journal, with scarce early issues included.
