Description

Oxford: Chez P.Fr. Gueffier, 1780. Jean-Pierre Cotelle (1709-1795), a rather controversial French cleric and theologian, wrote several volumes of the series, evidently regarded well-enough as to qualify for a pension. This is a Near Fine copy of Volume 15 of the the "Ecclesiastical Conferences of Agners on Human Acts." Rare. Full mottled calf binding. Five raised bands on the spine; labels in red and brown with gilt titling; gilt decorations and the number "15." Clean text; 592 pages; red stain to all page ends; marbled endpapers. Corners are bumped, and the original gilded edges are rubbed. The textblock is bright and fresh, no foxing. Probably as close as one can get to an "as new" designation in a two-hundred-year-old book. A superior copy.. First Thus. Full-Leather. Near Fine/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
