An uncommon first edition copy of Manuel Gomez Miralles' photographic survey of Costa Rica. Miralles was one of Costa Rica's most prolific photographers, operating for many decades, and this book is an early collection of his work. Miralles work is compositionally advanced and his large format images are reproduced effectively in the volume. This book was the only survey of Miralles' work to appear in his lifetime, and after his death his negatives were sold to a foreign photographer.
