A study of Khmer costumes and ornaments depicted on the stone relief carvings at the Angkor Wat temple complex in Cambodia. Several small figures in the text and 41 full-page plates. An important work by Sappho Marchal, whose superb line drawings aided later scholars and restorers by recording fine details now badly deteriorated. Marchal, just 23 at the time of publication, spent her early years in Cambodia and her father was the longtime curator and conservator of Angkor Wat. xi, 114 pages. Bound in the original tan paper wraps. VG condition. Printed on quality paper. Text and plates generally clean, with only minor occasional foxing. Unread, with unopened pages (still joined at the top edge) throughout the book. No owner signatures or bookplates. A nice copy overall.
