About This Item
Houston, TX: A Horseman Book/Cordovan Corporation, 1978 A Horseman Book/Cordovan Corporation, Houston, TX. 1978. Hardcover. Stated Second Edition. Book is tight, square, and unmarked. Book Condition: Fine. DJ: Very Good +; slight chipping of cover at head and tail. Brown grained boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on spine and front board. 232 pp 8vo. One may think that the West was tamed only by men, but there was a considerable number of women who "asked no man's leave and needed no man's escort". This book tells of the women of the West who were cowgirls, ranchers, outlaws, show girls, and movie stars. These independent women were immortalized by Dime Novels, Wild West Shows, rodeos, and movies. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
