London: Hutchinson & Co. (Publishers) Ltd, 1951. Reprint. Very Good +. Autobiography by Len Hutton of his cricketing career over two decades from February 1930 to 1948 when he left for South Africa as a member of the MCC team, with a foreward by Thomas Moult. An intimate account of England's Number One Batsman, Leonard Hutton, who may be described as the 'White Rose Wonder' and the 'Pride of Pudsey' (he was born nearby at Fulneck), and scorer at the age of 22 of the highest Test innings ever batted, his 364 beating the record held by Don Bradman. It is from the manner of his writing in Cricket is My Life, modest and reticent, that the reader learns more about Len Hutton. In the simple dedication of his story, he takes for granted that his memorable feats are not his alone, and he has been eager to pay tribute to those who have shared his life in this autobiography. green boards with writing to spine and cover. bumped and pages and foredge foxed. tight binding.black and white photos throughout.
