Newbury: G. W. Simpson & Son, Ltd., Printers. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1956. Softcover. Narrow split to gutter at front hinge. Gutter just starting at rear hinge. Overall a very nice copy of this title, with a presentation inscription from the author. ; [7], [1 (blank)] pages. Illustrated card covers. Page dimensions: oblong 249 x 183mm. The front cover has 3 black-and-white photographic illustrations of the house (1 interior view, 2 exterior views). Text includes notes on booking inspections, how to find the property, and a description of the house. "Situation. On a Southern Chiltern slope some 300 feet above sea level, amidst complete ruraliry within a mile of the village of Crowmarsh, and about 1½ miles from the old-world market-town of Wallingford with excellent shops, railway station, etc." "The house erected in 1938 upon this choice site was specially built for the present Owner from the plans and under the supervision of an architect. It is approached from an infrequently used lane by a short winding carriage drive and stands well back from the Woodcote-Wallingford Road. The main aspect it to the South and South-West commanding Panoramic Views from the Chiltern HIlls to the Berks Downs. The construction is in brick with flat concrete roof, and at first flor level is a particularly large and sunny balcony. [. . .] Servery of Pantry with built-in china cupboards and cupboards under, sink with h. & c. supplies, and also rainwater supply; composition floor." .
