About This Item
The collection of Balázs' Chinese short stories, contains partly the same stories as his earlier book "Der Mantel der Träueme" (München, 1922). Foreword by Thomas Mann, a section from his essay "Ein schönes Buch" (in: Bemühungen; Berlin, 1925).
Béla Balázs (1884-1949) was a Hungarian-Jewish film critic and aesthete, also a writer and poet. He is renown as the librettist of Béla Bartók's "Bluebeard's Castle" and the writer of the scenario for Bartók's ballet "The Wooden Prince".
Vera Csillag (1909-1997) was a Hungarian graphic artist, related to the modernist movements, her master was Sándor Bortnyik.
