Near Fine, slight separation of hinge between pp. 2-3,, most pages uncut, in Fine decoratively printed dust jacket and Near Fine original glassine jacket. With 50 plates with tissue guards, 25 of them in color. Prologue by R. Miguel y Planas. 349 pages, with border decorations on each page by J. Figuerola, and illustrations by Triadó, Urgellés, Cardunets Colom, Pey, D ivori, Apa, Junceda, Longoria, Ollé, Ros, Buyreu, Mora, Gelabert, Bocquet and Becquer. The book contains short stories by nine French authors (Charles Nodier, The Bibliophile and Franciscus Columna; Gustave Flaubert, The Murderous Bookstore; Alfred Bonnardot, Bibliophile's Mirror; Charles Asselineau, The Bibliophile's Hell; Alphonse Daudet, The Last Book; Octave Uzanne, The Bibliophile's Inheritance; Jérôme Doucet, The Biblical Fairy; Pierre Louÿs, The Stamp of Santa Teresa; and Pierre Mille, The Dedications) and six Spaniards (Luis Taboada, The Disappointment of a Book; Conde de las Navas, The Incunabula; Azorín , The Book Fair; Diego San José, A Curious Autograph; Pérez Nieva, It's Worth It!, and Álvarez Quintero, A Sevillian Proclamation), preceded by one of the best introductions to bibliophilia, the prologue by Ramón Miquel y Planas (1874-1950) of more than one hundred pages.
