London : John Russell Smith, 1845 Bound in full tooled brown calf with four raised bands with gilt panels, all edges dyed red, xvi, 319. Bookplates of W Harry Rylands with the Latin motto "Dum Spiro Spero". and Godfrey W Mathews. Covers are rubbed at extremities with front somewhat unevenly sunned, last two leaves with a corner chip, rear end papers with light foxing. Largely unread. Rylands was a rather prolific writer whose interests were in antiquities and heraldry among others and also a noteed book collector.
