Quarter black morocco over pictorial maroon cloth boards with titles in gilt to the spine. Fore-edge untrimmed. Decorative endpapers. Copiously illustrated throughout with linocuts in black and white and black and blue by Kyffin Williams (many full page and some folding). Contained within the original maroon cloth slipcase. A lovely fine copy, the binding square and tight; the contents immaculate throughout. The slipcase is in similarly fine condition. A superb example. Signed by Kyffin Williams in pencil to the first text page. A beautifully produced collection of linocuts by Kyffin Williams (1918-2006), celebrating his love for the landscape and people of Wales. Williams, one of the defining artists of twentieth century Wales, was an enthusiastic supporter of the Gregynog Press, this being the fourth publication which he illustrated for them.
