Full-calf leather hardcover with red title panel on spine; gilt lettering and decorations; endpapers and edges of text block are marbled; 1857 on the title page is the only date; four maps and four plates.; 831 pages; double-columned. Very good minus condition: moderate wear to binding; straight; inner hinges slightly cracked but holding very well; bookplate inside front; pages in excellent condition. .
