Former owner bookplate and name on inside of front cover. Internals spotless, no creases. A Note on page 9 states that the author is referred to by D. H. Lawrence in his "Autobiographical Sketch" as 'the girl who had been the chief friend of my youth'. This book is an account of her recollections of this early friendship and provides a detailed portrait of Lawrence's life during his formative years of adolescence and early adulthood. She provides a first look at some details of his upbringing and education.
