A very scarce copy.Edward Fairfax (c1580-1635) was an English translator, known for his esteem translation of Torquato Tasso's 'Jerusalem Delivered.' He was also a believer in witchcraft, and wrote an original work on demonology, which provides a fascinating first hand account of rural life of the period.   In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally lovely. Previous owner's stamps to title page and edges. Dust wrapper unclipped and very smart with light wear, minor darkening to spine and top margin of wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Near Fine
