Description
London: Girl's Own Paper Office, 1936. Hardcover. Very Good/Poor. The interior of the book is clean and tight. The paper has darkened very slightly, but this is the only flaw. The red covers are fresh, with moderate rubbing at edges and corners, and some fading to the top and bottom of the spine. The dust jacket is in poor condition, with edge wear and paper missing from the top and bottom of the spine area. The attached scan gives a better idea of condition. Note: The book does not give a publication date, so the 1936 date is that supplied by the British Library. Synopsis from Dust Jacket: "Star Wenwold was a stiff, shy girl when she fell into the merry group of girls at her new school who called themselves 'The Circle.' In their jolly company she was fast thawing, when she suddenly found herself thrust into circumstances which aroused the suspicions of her friends. One of them, however, determined to stick by her and probe the mystery, though Star gruffly turned her back on her and gave her friends no encouragement. Finally, in spite of ghostly terrors of a haunted cave, and the scheming of a set of girls who were Star's enemies, the mystery is cleared, and Star finds herself once more in the 'Circle' of friends.
