A book commemorating the first raids Japanese raids in 1942, and the response to those raids as Spitfires and heavy bombers arrived and were deployed to strike back. Contains some pilot profiles, 2 pages of color photos and many b&w photos and maps, operational squadrons, endnotes and bibliography. Small former owner name stamp (from the library of a US pilot who served in the Pacific) on front and rear end paper and one inner page. Original price sticker on rear wrapper. This book is in the original publisher's stiff pictorial wrappers which are in nice condition--this is a clean, tight and unmarked book. ; Color & B&W photos, maps and illustrations; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 80 pages .
