Sunning to the spine and across the top of the boards, leaves crisp, bright, and uncut/unopened. Dedicated to Lytton Strachey. Collected shorter biographies of great women from the prolific Massachusetts biographer: Ninon de Lenclos, Madame de Maintenon, Madame Guyon, Mademoiselle de Lespinasse, Catherine the Great, George Sand, and Sarah Bernhardt.
