Large format hardcover edition with dust jacket. The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. This was published to accompany the exhibit of the same name that was held L.A. County Art Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Galeries Nationales D'Expositiom Du Grand Palais, Paris. One of the things focused on in this volume is the importance of the changes that were taking place in France at the time of the Impressionist movement, such as the growth of the railroad, and the influence of the urban landscape, and the importance of the development of landscape photography on the artists involved in Impressionism. Included are 228 illustrations, 154 in full color. 375 pages, green cloth covered boards, 11-1/4" X 10-1/4" X 1-1/2". Some of the artists included are; Cezanne, Pissarro, Renoir, van Gogh, Monet, Manet, Morisot, Bernard, and several others. Richard Brettell was the Curator of European Painting at The Art Institute of Chicago at the time of publication, currently with the University of Texas. This copy shows sun fading to the edges of the green cloth covered boards, as well as a spot of fading to the lower right corner of the front board.- photos attached.
