Synopsis

"With the sure touch of a master" ( Crescent Blues ), Charlaine Harris delivers "the sort of vampire thrills that make Laurell Hamilton's Anita Blake novels so popular" ( Locus ). In Sookie Stackhouse-a Southern cocktail waitress with a supernatural gift-Harris has a created a heroine like few others, and a series that puts the bite back in vampire fiction. Now the hit series launches into hardcover for Sookie's biggest twist-filled adventure yet. When cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse sees a naked man on the side of the road, she doesn't just drive on by. Turns out the poor thing hasn't a clue who he is, but Sookie does. It's Eric the vampire—but now he's a kinder, gentler Eric. And a scared Eric, because whoever took his memory now wants his life. Watch a QuickTime trailer for the HBO original series True Blood.

Dead To The World is the fourth book in the Sookie Stackhouse series by popular American author, Charlaine Harris. After the painful events in Jackson, Mississippi, a few weeks earlier, telepathic cocktail waitress, Sookie Stackhouse has vowed off all involvement with vampires. Her ex-boyfriend, vampire Bill, has gone to Peru when, driving home just after New Year, Sookie finds his boss, Eric, (vampire) Sheriff of Area 5, wandering, half naked, on the road near her home, with a convincing case of amnesia. What else can she do but take him home? Then, to complicate matters further, her brother, Jason goes missing.

This instalment sees Sookie encountering vampires, shifters and Weres (as usual), but also Witches, Wiccans and a Fairy. She manages to get on the right side of a Were packmaster, get a marriage proposal from a shifter, save a Werewolf’s life, joins the residents of Bon Temps in a search through the woods, get shot at, witness a battle between a bunch of supernaturals, and kill two people. Sookie discovers that she may not be popular with regular guys because of her gift, but the supernaturals find her attractive in spite of, or sometimes because of, it. Lots of fun!

About Wonder Book

With 3 stores less than 1 hour outside the DC/Metropolitan area (1 in Gaithersburg, 1 in Frederick and 1 in Hagerstown, MD), we have the largest selection of books in the tri-state area. Wonder Book and Video has been in business since 1980 and online since 1997. We have over 1 Million books for sale on our website and another 1 Million books for sale in our 3 locations. We have a very active online inventory and as such, we can receive multiple orders for the same item. We fill those orders on a first come first serve basis, but will refund promptly any items that are out of stock. Since 1980 it has always been about the books. ALL kinds of books from 95 cent children\'s paperbacks to five figure rare and collectibles. A merging of the old and new is where we started, and it is where we are today. Our retail stores have always been places where a reader can rush in looking for a title needed for a term paper that is due the next day, or where bibliophiles can get lost \"in the stacks\" for as long as they wish. In 2002 USAToday recognized us as \"1 of 10 Great Old Bookstores\", and we have been featured in numerous other newspaper and TV stories including Washington Post and CSpan.
